Practical Stroller Rain Covers for Babies and Toddlers
Keep Your Child DryI it is a good idea to buy a practical stroller rain cover to protect your baby or toddler. If you get caught in the rain, you want to protect your child from getting wet. It’s fun to take a walk with your child in a stroller, but it’s not very nice if it rains and you have no protective
cover for the stroller. The stroller rain covers are not too expensive, so it might be wise to buy one. There are many different kinds of covers, so I decided to see what I could find in practical stroller rain covers for babies and toddlers.I found the Peg Perego Aira Oh Stroller Rain Cover that sells for $29.99. This stroller rain cover is waterproof and has a zip closure. It measures 30 x 34 x 25″, and it is imported. This looks like it would really keep the baby or toddler nice and dry and comfortable. I think your child would be very happy to have this on the stroller. I think it would keep your little one very comfortable in the rain.I found the Protec-A Bub Stroller Rain Cover-Black that sells for $22. This stroller rain cover has great reviews, and most people like the idea that it folds easily. This practical rain cover will protect your baby or toddler from the wind and rain. It attaches easily to the canopy of the stroller, and it weighs 1 lb. It measures 26 L x 5 H x 33″ W. I think this is a very nice stroller rain cover, and I think many parents would be happy to have this one.I found the Go-Go Babyz Urban Advantage Rain Cover that sells for $24.99. The transparent shield protects the child from harmful UVA-UVB rays. It has an easy-close fastener which is nice. It is for ages 1 yr and up. It measures 32 L x 20 W x 31″ H, and it is imported. I like this one too, and I think most parents would like it.I found the Warm As A Lamb Stroller Coat Cover-Pink that sells for $99.99. This is a thermally insulated rain cover for the stroller. It gives weather resistant protection. It has a snap closure and it measures 52 x 21″. This one is more expensive than the others, but perhaps it’s worth it for it’s thermally insulated rain cover. I think your child would be nice and comfortable with this one.
Product Review: Graco Duo Glider Stroller – Tango in the Tongo
I purchased the Graco Duo Glider Stroller – Tango in the Tongo after the birth of my second child. I children are only twenty-months apart and a given their tender ages we were in need of a stroller that would be able to hold two small children.I ordered the stroller online from Toys R Us for about $140 plus shipping and it arrived within a week. I was worried that assembly would be tough but I was actually able to put it together myself without my husband’s assistance. The design is cute
and the brown and pale green colors are great for any gender, a plus since I have a toddler boy and baby girl.We were using a Graco carrier car seat for are newborn and it was compatible with the stroller. I was able to strap my son into the front and put my daughter in the rear, carrier and all. I felt she was much safer this way and did not have to worry about her little head and neck getting jostled. The first time I used the double stroller I was pleased. Though it is somewhat bulky even when folded it still fit easily into the trunk of our car. It is heavier than a single stroller but is manageable. It opened and closed easily and the trays and sun shades can be removed. I did have to remove these so that it would fit in the trunk but it only took me a couple of seconds to do so. The stroller fits easily through doorways but its length can make it tricky to maneuver through smaller sized stores. I imagine doing so with a long stroller is still much easier than trying to push two strollers at once. There were a couple of aspects of the stroller that I was not completely happy with, but nothing major enough to make me regret buying it. The stroller uses a three point harness system rather than five which means children are only buckled in around the waste. I prefer the five point harness that has to shoulder straps but that is a personal preference. I also noticed that the sunshades do not completely protect the kids from the sun. A simple solution to this problem is to make sure they always have their hats on their heads and sunscreen on any exposed skin.
How to Choose a Double Stroller
Double strollers make life much easier for parents with more than one young child. They allow a parent the freedom to shop, travel, and take long walks with their children without worry or confusion. When it comes to shopping for a double stroller there are many options to choose from.
Front and Back DesignSome strollers are designed in a way that allows one child to sit next to the other. Graco is one brand that makes this particular type of stroller and prices for this kind of double stroller can range from $150 to well over $200.Front and back designed double strollers are good for parents who have an infant and an older child. Most brands of this design allow a parent to put an infant in the stroller while still in a carrier or infant car seat. Parents who desire this feature need to make sure they are choosing a stroller that is compatible with the infant seat they plan to use. This type of stroller is narrow enough to fit through standard doorways and is good if a parent has to take the stroller to a doctor’s office or stores with narrow entry ways. A drawback to this design is children may fight over who gets to sit up front when they are older.Side-by-Side DesignChildren sit next to one another in a double stroller that has a side-by-side design and this type is a better choice for toddlers and older. The price for a side-by-side stroller is about the same as that of the front and back design.Side-by-side strollers tend to be less bulky than front and back double strollers, but they are also wider and parents might have a problem getting this type of stroller through a narrow doorway. This type of stroller might be a good choice for parents who will be using the stroller outdoors or to go mall walking with their children. Some side by side strollers are designed as jogging strollers and are perfect for parents who plan to take their children with them when they go for a run.Sit and Stand DesignSit and stand strollers are good for families who have one child who is a toddler or older. This allows the smaller child to sit up front in a seat and the older child to stand in the back. These range from $100-$200+.
Sisterhood of the Double Stroller
I had an interesting, if not exactly earth-shattering, revelation while at a playgroup the other day. It is simply this: As mothers, we are all part of a sisterhood and we share common experiences that bring us together. It doesn’t end up mattering much what our previous life experiences
were up until this point. Specifically, in this particular playgroup, at 38 I’m one of the oldest moms, with a 2-year-old and one on the way, while the youngest mom is 23 and has a 2-year-old and a 5-month-old. Yet, in spite of the 15-year difference between us, we have much more in common now than we have differences.Whatever we were doing prior to having children seems very far behind us. Now, our lives are dominated by potty training, selecting preschools, and finding the perfect double stroller, all the while watching to make sure our child isn’t trying to be too much of a daredevil on the monkey bars! So, is motherhood a great equalizer? Perhaps. I read a humorous memoir about motherhood a while ago, and remembered thinking that if I encountered this author prior to having children I probably would not have become friends with her as our backgrounds and interests were so different. However, as mothers, the things she wrote about are exactly the same things that we encounter in our daily lives: Playgroups, walks, outings in the park, and of course the inevitable times when our child fusses uncontrollably in the line at the grocery store. We’re all doing the most important job in the world: we’re raising our children. We are our children’s primary caregiver, their first teacher, the one who kisses their “ouches,” the one who comforts them the most when they’re upset, and the one who eats the rest of their chicken nuggets when they would rather play than eat during lunch.
Product Review: Double Elite Sit ‘n Stand Stroller from One Step Ahead
The Double Elite Sit ‘n Stand Stroller from One Step Ahead (onestepahead.com) is one the best double strollers on the market today. This stroller is actually from Baby Trends but this particular version is exclusive to One Step Ahead. Baby Trends has a great reputation for being
trend-setters with the Sit ‘n Stand style strollers. I bought the Double Elite when I was pregnant with my third child. My daughter would turn 2 just a few weeks before the baby was born. I knew she was too young to be in the traditional Sit ‘n Stand stroller that we owned but I also didn’t want to spend the money on a traditional double stroller that she’d be done with in a year. This stroller did not disappoint. It was well used before my third child was born. For 5 months, my then-1-year-old and then-4-year-old used this stroller. As soon as the baby was born, it was back to the traditional double style with the infant carseat in the front seat. We’ve used this stroller constantly for 2 years now and I still can’t find anything to complain about! The stroller is a traditional double stroller with 2 reclining seats with harness seatbelts, sun shades, footrests, etc. The front seat has a tray with cupholder. The parent tray has 2 cupholders plus a small storage area with a lid. The basket underneath is very large and is very easy to get into from the sides or top. The stroller works with most infant carseats – they just snap into place. We have a Graco Snugseat and it fit perfectly. The stroller is lighter than other double strollers I looked at, it folds easily and is easy to take in and out of the back of my SUV. What makes this double unique is that when the older child wants to stand, you can remove the backseat and transform it to the Sit ‘n Stand style in literally less than 2 minutes. You can then stash the seat in the basket and convert it back to a normal reclining seat later in the day when your child gets tired. In the Sit ‘n Stand style, the child can either stand to face forward or backward on the standing platform or sit facing backwards on the little bench seat.
Phil & Ted Stroller with Doubles Seat: Review
A Unique and Flexible Option in the World of Double StrollersOne of the most difficult decisions facing moms who are expecting their second baby is which double stroller to buy. There are so many options, each with their own positives and negatives. In my opinion the best option available is the Phil & Ted Stroller with a Doubles Seat. This is
not your typical double stroller. It is the only stroller out there that easily converts from a single stroller to a double stroller, and if that fact alone is not enough to sell you, consider its many other benefits. You read right, the Phil & Ted Stroller easily coverts from a single stroller to a double stroller with the simple attachment of the Doubles Seat. This means that you can comfortably use this stroller whether you have only one or both of your children with you. So if one child is in morning preschool and you stop in at the mall with your baby you won’t be lugging around a huge double stroller when you only needed a single. You also won’t have to store two strollers in you car which takes up valuable shopping bag space. Speaking of shopping bags, why not just leave that doubles seat on the stroller? It makes an excellent storage area for bags, winter coats, and diapering supplies.Maneuverability is one of the most important qualities for a stroller to have, and double strollers are not exactly known for their ease of movement. The Phil & Ted Stroller is an inline double that doesn’t take up much more room than your typical single stroller, even when the Doubles Seat is installed. It also has a front swivel wheel so it is incredibly easy to steer, even one handed! I have taken mine fully loaded with two children into tightly packed stores and had no problems maneuvering through the merchandise. The Phil & Ted is also considered an “all-terrain” stroller, so it moves easily over grass and gravel.

The price for this stroller is an affordable $199.99. It is basically an umbrella stroller times two. The stroller itself is very light, and easy to fold and lift.
